Which car did you end up settling on?
Do you have any other good leads that you passed on?
If you don't mind me asking, what is the problem with ToyBarn?
- The only other car I truly considered (for longer than a day or so) is the 2003 listed on this form with right at 61k miles. His username is NMSV8V and he is located in Cincinnati. Ultimately, I just decided that I wanted a car with fewer than 60k miles so I went this route.
- The Toy Barn has pretty terrible reviews online and my experience was poor in that they do not allow for a PPI inspection to be done on their cars. Furthermore, they picked up a car I had noticed for sale at Foreign Cars Italia in N.C. but couldn't act quickly enough on. I thought it had sold private party, but then later found out that Toy Barn had picked it up at auction and Foreign Cars had only sent it to auction because it was going to need thousands of $$ of work to be "made right" and they couldn't generate a profit. Toy Barn told me the car was immaculate and needed nothing.
- I bought a 2003 out of Dallas. It was a RL member's car which he traded in for a Gallardo. I then purchased it from Lamborghini of Dallas.

If you dont mind me asking, was it a car which was recently listed on eBay? If so, did you get a chance to see the car in person or have a PPI performed? I am asking b/c I have been looking at eBay as well, but am a bit leery with bidding on/purchasing a car sight unseen. Thanks in advance.

) and instead decided to trade the car into the Lamborghini dealership. I emailed them knowing I wanted the car, started speaking with the salesman, we agreed on a price, and I had the PPI setup with Ruf Auto Center in Dallas within about 10 days. I would treat Ebay (for higher end cars) not as an auction site, but as another avenue for advertisement like AutoTrader, etc. Rarely do the higher end cars actually bid through the reserve and get sold via Ebay but instead deals are made offline. Never skip the PPI and be firm on the number you are comfortable with. Its a buyer's market and we are moving into winter for 70%+ of the country and the dealers are obviously aware of this...
Thx for the reply. I am looking to buy in the next 2 months knowing full well that winter is the time to buy (was actually looking at that car as well). Could I give you a call to discuss your strategy. It would be very insightful, seeing as my goals/specs are pretty much on par with yours. Thx
