Thumbs up Performance exhaust and 1 bar tune

When I purchased my car, it had an aftermarket, MTM stainless exhaust and 1 bar tune. According to the tuning shop, it was a 510hp/500 ft/lb torque tune.

Unfortunately when I purchased it, the muffler on the exhaust had two split seams which required re-welding. As a result, I picked up a stock Boysen tt exhaust to run while I fixed the aftermarket exhaust. When driving with the stock exhaust, I noticed some stumbling and a "clogged up" feeling off idle.

Yesterday, after TIG welding the can back together, I put the MTM back in. What a difference. My estimate is the return of 30 hp and driveability is much improved. Throttle response is so much crisper and the sound is now a nice mellow throb. The way the sound builds as you accelerate makes shifting so much easier, as you are not trying to see the tach and can shift according to sound. I need to turn the radio up 2 clicks, but oh well, I can live with that..plus the MTM weighs about 30 pound lighter.

Anyway, just some thoughts on the switch.
