Hard intake pipes didn't work out...
Tim -- not trying to persuade anyone either way. Just sharing my experiences. I was unaware that changing my suspension setup would put a hole in my piping when they cleared before. DIY'er mistake I guess. The additional cost of the soft kit was worth it so I didn't have to drop the motor again and it was something I could do myself.
Also, a serious engineering question... since the intake pipes aren't really pressurized like boost hoses what's the deal about the piping? Even if it deformed a little bit would that really effect performance? Would that ever be enough to hinder a pair of relatively tiny 18gs? I figure that the big rigs would more suspect to small changes making a difference.

Now for the performance. It is never no pressure unless you are at absolute zero. Other wise it is "less" pressure. It is harder to put air though a pipe then it is to push it. You had nice turn on your hard pipe and now it just flops to want ever now could even be collapsed. Ok lets end the fight now take a slinky put it on its side now push it to make it lay down. Does the inside diameter go down? if its bunched up will the plastic outer fold in and block air flow?
18g is a turbo that proves it's self daily. Little... K16's are little...
Tim....remember that happened to my JIC suspension and stock pipe set up. Turned out my DL's were on thier way out. Rubbed into hard plastic just before inlet, and popped off hose. Thankfully NO damage to my compressor wheel. Installed Tarrets, and adjusted, now they clear.
