996tt rwd wheel hop issue

Hi to all.

I have just dropped the center drive shaft to see how the car goes as rwd and its bouncing all over the place when trying to launch hard. This cant be too good for the rear axles. Ive tried to bring the tire pressure down a bit but it hasnt done much good.

Ive noticed there are a few people who have gone rwd, any advice on what needs to be modified or replaced to try fix this problem would be greatly appreciated.

The car is an '05 996tt. Ive only just bought the car a few months ago, its on 19" 997 wheels, and as far as i can tell it has standard suspension.

Thanks

18's will help here, also a stickier tire.

Suspension can also play a big role, I got wheel hop in the rear even with the front diff in place, but I'm pushing a bit more over stock.

Coil overs will help. But if you keep doing those hard launches, you'll be buying new clutch, axles, a differential and then a tranny.

Are you just dumping the clutch or riding it out?

PALETTE Im dropping the clutch, should i be riding it? Im not in the mood to be changing the clutch too soon

The car isnt standard either. Its been remapped and running about 1.2bar, also has a catless 3inch x-over exhaust from 911tuning.
