wonder why bouncing off the rev limiter would kill the MAF? Is it the surging.
My car has had 55k miles on it before the MAF went to sensor heaven.
The ones making 700WHP on MAFs, are those stock MAFs or aftermarket\different MAFs like the Hitachi, etc.?
Maybe my boost spiked past the 1.4… Oooopppsss

Is the 16G upgrade with 5bar good for ~ 50 hp&tq over a standard stage 1or 2 car (EPL flash, DVs, 100cel exhaust)?

is your version of this tune switchable and controlled/installed remotely by pre loaded cable? ( if that makes sense ) or does the ecu need to be removed.. is that ancient tech? i want one of those so hoping it's my spring upgrade. also, when you do the maf less tune.. is the tune modded to account for existing mods etc? or is it "simply" a "tuned" file for the 996t? i.e. one size fits all. thx in advance. i sure would like to get rid of that 47 ( err, 49$ troublemaker ) without reliability issues.

I learned the expensive way that you can tune K16/16g's to perform better than K24/18g turbos. And, they look so similar that even experienced shops can get them confused.

 

Can you please expound a little more about how you got it to perform better the 24/18g's and how it was an expensive way that your learned that?

The reason I purchased the EPL K16 Billet is I heard the same as you just stated concerning the performance over the K24/18g's.

I think the best Todd ran on 16gs was 6.33 60-130. There have been lot more 18 gs that have done better (eg. Chris Green 5.18, ttboost 5.99 plus numerous 6.0) Todd did his 1 run in sub 40 F weather if memory serves me correctly & the 24/18 guys could do it it in different weather conditions(warmer).
So to say 16g's can outperform 24/18's from 1 freak run is not a very good comparison.

 

Go Alpha28s. Spool is fantastic and they wont leave you wanting more (hopefully) after a while. Doing it all at once saves coin as well.
