After much research and though about this matter I think I am leaning to a SLC chassis instead of the Ultima.

When it comes down to it I just can not wrap my mind around the cheap regular steel frame and the cost associated with personally building a one off cro-mo frame for myself and the additional issues with making it fit my gorilla like proportions. They just have not been doing any great developing of the car for many years

Also talking with the owner and the people at SLC they are really driven to improve an already great handling car work even better.

Other factors played into this too, issues like SLC actually being in north america.

I will give the idea till early spring to develop in my head then go from there. As I already have an engine in the works I really should decide as soon as I can that way my build time and engine completion time might correspond. Really what is holdingme back right now is work. If I am going to work lots this summer I will not have the build time. If I decide to not work this summer I will have lots of time to commit to such a project.

Do a search on people that have bought these first. Seen some stories about parts not turning up and things like that. Can't remember where I saw it but it was when I was looking into them

I would have to see that one for myself, from what I have found most builders have been so very impressed with the companies service they have all been willing to sing about it. I usually find that when someone is happy about good service they will try and tell a few people. Now when someone is unhappy about bad service they will try and scream it to the whole world.

To very big things played into my decision with wanting to go with the SLC vs the GTR. One is the chassis is built out out of more modern materials using more modern construction techniques and is being developed at a high rate. Number two was when building your own car especially one that allows you liberty to play around with features or use a variety of parts you can engineer yourself a problem or just not even know what to use for coresponding parts. Well the guys on the SLC builders forums were all so happy and willing to help out where-as the GTR folks were very much opposite. I asked numerous questions in both places and the SLC folks answered everyone and even went beyond even those questions with there explainations. The Ultima crowd did not, could not or would not even answer simple questions, questions like "How is the AC on the car; Plus numerous others.

The SLC looks like a good way to go to build a purpose built club race car. After seeing what I put into my C5Z06 to build it into a W2W race car I could have done one of these and been faster. My Z06 turned out to be gold Cup Car fast, but a SLC with my 434ci LS2 na torque monster in it lap times would have to be very fast.

That is where I war with myself, a part of me wants an all out race car; then a more practical side of me wants a car that would be used lots more with some creature comforts. Creature comforts win but at the expense of how much weight?

Either way the engine will be an RHS Aluminumed blocked 474 that revs out to 7000 rpm, way more power then a car like that ever needs but get in shut up and hold on!

I think it would be cool to build one with a little Magnus Walker flair, some interior bits and a stereo won't slow that 474 down much, might even turn a AC compressor with out much loss the race cage they show look pretty easy to get around.
