Help: Wheels and Tires

I want to say that this is a great forum. I have a bone stock 2004 Porsche TT. I want to replace the stock wheels and tires. I have been told that various scenarios will work from numerous dealers. I am asking the forum because you guys have the actual experience. I want to go with the widest wheel and tire that will fit without any mods to the car. I am staying with an 18 inch wheel. I want a large lip. I have been told that a 18x11.5 with a 315 tire will work on the rear without any mods or rubbing. I have been told to look at spacers to give it that fat tire look instead. Any advice is appreciated? I have searched the forum for an answer first and was unable to obtain a difinitive answer. Thanks.

Can't help you much (at all) with your question about tires but just wanted to remind you to if you can hang on to those stock wheels you'll be taking off your car.

The wheels cost a small fortune.

Couple of years ago a body shop sent one off my Turbo out to be refinished -- wheel got a bit scuffed up from a mule deer encounter -- and the wheel refinishing shop ruined the wheel.

The wheel shop paid for a new factory wheel and IIRC the cost listed on the paperwork I received was $1800.

You have 4 of these Fort Knox wheels.

Guard them well.
