What is involved with commanded boost pressure?

Is there more to what boost pressure the engine actually sees than what the tune is programmed to provide? For example, does traction or temperature or any other factor have any input on if the ecu will let it boost its maximum programmed pressure?

boost tables are actually set up as rpms vs. engine temps... not engine load... thus temps to matter...

Interesting. So I guess this would be why I might get .9 bar one run then a couple minutes later it will hit my max of 1.1 bar since the first run probably got the engine temps up. Or do I have it backwards?

in your case since its tuned you should never boost WOT on a car that is not up to normal operating temp.. thats how you pop gaskets...
the .9 to 1.1 could be just a spike... also when its cooler outside it will run .1 bar more.. etc.. don't concern yourself just enjoy...

I'm definitely at operating temps when I first go WOT.

I'm not too concerned. I just really like to know how things work.
