btw, it was throwing rich codes for the last year, so I think the culprit is more the rpm than the octane. It was a 91 octane map per 9ff, but honestly, I dont trust ANYthing they say anymore.
bent rods and lifted heads for my understanding are not a failure of a high rev limit....knocking and to much timing, fuel and mixture are the reason ....
i see cars with 1,4 bar 7200rpm dont fail....maybe you car lean out at high load...fuel pump? hose at the pressure fuel regulator? let guys like marksi check your engine.....

I've learned my lesson (after 2times now...lols). I could have had a bit more power and a safer motor. It probably was leaning out at high rpm. I dont have injectors, just a 5bar fpr...
I think your best bet would be to buy this motor and then unload the car! It's only $5,500.00

I was pretty embarrassed to tell the story really, but I'm really happy I shared it with you guys. I'm actually thinking about getting some supporting mods done (injectors, meth?) and a PROPER tune...and gasp - keeping the car.

I think you'll be good if you're cars been sorted out already. I had this 9ff ECU that i went back and forth with 9ff whether it was a 91octane map - i got the sense that Jan Fatthauer was using euro octane for his maps.

Yes, but I never fully believed 9ff. They claimed it was 91, but I think it was EURO 91.
