thanks, I should have gotten it to you sooner to fix the ECU.

Next time.

btw, it was throwing rich codes for the last year, so I think the culprit is more the rpm than the octane. It was a 91 octane map per 9ff, but honestly, I dont trust ANYthing they say anymore.

bent rods and lifted heads for my understanding are not a failure of a high rev limit....knocking and to much timing, fuel and mixture are the reason ....

i see cars with 1,4 bar 7200rpm dont fail....maybe you car lean out at high load...fuel pump? hose at the pressure fuel regulator? let guys like marksi check your engine.....

There are a lot of variables, but I can only safely run 1.0 bar on 91. I was running 1.2 on 93 no issues.

i also have 1.2 and raised revs to 7200 also. sure don't like to hear stories like this

Listen man, we can argue 19" vs 18" until next year, but for right now? Take your car to SamboTT. You're right there in LA. You got no excuse.

Let him see what your tune and car are REALLY doing. Don't be like me. I've learned my lesson (after 2times now...lols). I could have had a bit more power and a safer motor. It probably was leaning out at high rpm. I dont have injectors, just a 5bar fpr...

I really appreciate this forum and you all at times like this. I was ready to give up and move on, sell the car for nothing to a junkyard. I was pretty embarrassed to tell the story really, but I'm really happy I shared it with you guys. I'm actually thinking about getting some supporting mods done (injectors, meth?) and a PROPER tune...and gasp - keeping the car.

I almost pulled the trigger on a '12 E350 and called it a day...now - not so clear.

send the motor to tim941nyc and let him go thru it. add what you need for a strong motor and ship it to you. then you have a strong well built motor to play with

That's awesome! $5500 seems like a steal on that engine! I hope it works out and you're back on the road in no time

sambo'll hook ya up with the proto maf less tune. i haven't.... yet i have this damn list!.. it's on "it" lol.. seriously.. but hang in.. this too shall pass

hey I really appreciate it all the kind words and support.

I think you'll be good if you're cars been sorted out already. I had this 9ff ECU that i went back and forth with 9ff whether it was a 91octane map - i got the sense that Jan Fatthauer was using euro octane for his maps.

mine's an antique cargraphic. but i don't stay at 1.2 for long! but i have been leaning ( sorry ) toward the new tune myself. esp if it's maf LESS lol

Yes, but I never fully believed 9ff. They claimed it was 91, but I think it was EURO 91.

Either way, that software is GONE from my ECU.
