I did it! Bought a 996TT!
That's what everyone says. It starts with door and bumper plugs, maybe some aluminum trim rings...then come GT3 seats in carbon, painted bumpettes, carbon door guards, floor mats, aftermarket sound system, painted lower panels, wheels, aerodynamic parts, short shifter, DV's, exhaust, springs, clutch, etc...Sorry I just cost you a fortune!

Found this one on ebay and really like the color and options. 17K miles. After many conversations, emails and photos from the seller I felt good about it (I sold a car on ebay, but buying is different!). I negotiated the shipping into the buy it now price. The color seems unusual...has anyone seen it before?

In all seriousness.....congratulations on the purchase. You will really enjoy it. The color is beautiful. My only gripe....no glovebox.
Congrats on the purchase, great deal on a great car!
Hope the shipper you are using is of highest quality. Good luck on the count down...
Post some more pics when you get the new ride. I'd be interested in your comparison between TT and your RX7 as a former FD owner myself.

Glad to hear a lot of positive comments about the color. I almost expected people to reject it.
Andy (Mcoupe)- yes, I do remember you from the Teaworks and Woodlands car meets. That is indeed my RX-7 and thanks for posting pic. It's truly a beautiful design and a fantastic driver's car. I will miss it, but the 996TT will be a worthy replacement. It's the only car I've driven (and can justify buying) that is as much as the RX-7.
The "Famous last words" statements are so true. I'm sure (at least) an exhaust, chip and suspension is in the cards. But I have 3 cars to sell and a storage unit full of Datsun Roadster, Miata and RX-7 parts that I have to get rid of before I do anything. I promised my wife!
Raza- thanks for answering my PM. I was worried you knew something negative about the car. Glad to hear it was just general advice. I'm also gald you didn't buy it!
KPV- I wanted a glovebox too, but a 2002 would easily cost $10K more and likely wouldn't have all these options. So I wrote off the glovebox. I open them anyway...for me they just accumulate crap. I would have liked an X50 pkg and dual circle (X54?) exhaust tips though. But this car has so much going for it I couldn't pass it up.
dj- I don't know who is shipping. The dealer is using a shipping broker and it goes with whatever company they choose. He uses them a lot and denies any problems. As long as they're insured and bonded, I figure that's what matters. If you have more info, please PM me.
Looking fwd to joining you guys on the road.
