Oil in hose between turbo and intercooler
Oil in hose between turbo and intercooler
I just swapped out 16G's for my original stock K16's. The reason for the swap was there was oil collecting in this pipe on the driver side and making its way to the intercooler. Consensus was the turbo was failing.
I ran the car for a few weeks and started to do a boost leak test. I pulled the same hose to look at it, and found new oil puddled inside. The inside of the turbo looks squeaky clean. Does anyone have an idea what's going on? Is it normal to have some oil in that hose?

When I did my plugs a long time ago I had some oil in my hoses. Pretty sure it is normal as long as it's not buckets! I haven't noticed any since, but I have different turbos as well. Might be a check valve as well, not sure if that will put some oil in there if it is not working right.
Its probably the check valve on top of the turbo...

I replaced the check valves before I installed the turbos. I guess it's possible new ones could fail?
I'm going to see how much oil drains from the tank after a few drives to be sure it's not the return line.
I'm stumped. I hope it's not a failing turbo again.
