New owner ! :)

Hey guys, after a months wait I finally have my 996 TT. Traded in my 2003 bmw M3 - 80,000 kms

Its a 2004, 6 speed , 40,000 kms, No accidents

As for mods

-Lowered
-Wheels
-New clutch ( forget what brand, its pretty stiff )
-Down pipes
-Exhaust - Looks like Remus to me
-some kind of carbon intake things...I'll snap a pic you guys can probably help identify what they are
-Greddy profec B
-Agency power BoV - from what I could see

Here is a pic of the intake, looks like fake CF not sure what the benefits are to this but I noticed the rubber gasket on the left side is worn right out.

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

I was told its on a stock tune and stock fuel system, It does smell like it runs a bit rich though, I'll have to look into this further.

I have a couple questions for you guys, it appears the greddy profec is "Off" it was likely just used for a boost controller but I'm a little weary whether or not to turn it on?

Also, I notice the oil pressure on the highway was at 5 or so in 5th-6th at 100-107km/hr, from what I'm reading it seems to be normal but I'll have to check what its at during regular idle and city driving.

Did notice one negative, on the way home I hit the highway and the spoiler threw a failure code, dealer is going to look at that one for me. Other then that I did notice it needs an alignment as the car pulls to the right a bit, he claimed it had one done not long ago but who knows.

Excited to be here, that's for sure !

robertg is infamous around these parts
What part of Canada are you from? My plan was to sell my M3 and buy a 911 Turbo, but the right car came up before I sold my M3. Hopefully the BMW will sell soon if summer ever arrives.

You need some better pictures.

Welcome. Congrats. You should really get it on a lift and see what's in there. Check the fuel reg and why there was a boost controller. Once you get a better idea of whats going on you can go from there. You will love this car.

I will get some better pics up, those were just the " I'm excited " pics-- I wanted to get driving lol.

Forsure I'll get under there and see what all is done. I won't be driving it hard until I know the details. Not to say I have't boosted it seems to hit 0.9 bar which is stock if i'm not mistaken.

The Spoiler error code is really not a big deal. Just look in the mirror to see if the spoiler comes up. My car throws that code once a month, but the spoiler still works fine.

.9 could be a tune pulling back and running rich. Stock is about .7
Is it an X-50?

This clutch is pretty intense, its tough to get started in 1st gear without slightly slipping it -- this is going to take some getting used to. My 1st to 2nd gear 'spirited' shifts are really bad, I'll see how it goes in a week or so but the clutch is pretty new and good for 1000hp apparently.

I wonder if doing the clutch booster spring mod would help with the clutch feel? or is it going to make it even more stiff? Does anyone here have experience with that?

Also have to figure out how to adjust this steering wheel the position is all the way back toward the windshield. Tried moving that lever under the wheel but the wheel still didn't seem to want to move. Oh what I don't know about this car so far..

The booster spring mod will make the clutch feel better and also make it stiffer.

It took me a while to get used to the clutch, especially first gear. Definitely not the best feedback.
