2003 Porsche Audio

I know a number of others have brought this up before, but I am hoping someone has some good ideas on how to overcome the limitations of the 2003 996 TT PCM technology. I have, what I think is referred to as the PCM 2.1 with Nav & CD Changer - See attachment (although the latest maps I installed said they flashed the software to PCM 3.0). The system appears to not be at all expandable, specifically for adding Bluetooth, Sat radio, and/or Aux.

Is there any simple option to add a module for BT, Sat, & AUX? The Mobridge and others I have looked at say they are not 100% sure which features will work especially because my system has no phone button (see attached). Are there aftermarket add-on that someone has installed that have worked?? Has anyone went rip and replace for a fiber optic setup that has all of these features that they would recommend?? My local Porsche dealer sent me to an aftermarket local audio shop that suggested antenna inline AUX as my only option.

Thoughts....ideas...help?!?

There's a guy, Silberwolfen, on the other 996 board who had the whole setup replaced which included an ipod/phone adapter, bluetooth, and GPS which was custom fitted and looks like it was truly made for us. The system we have was dated long before the car was built.

I used the kit from this ebay seller with great results.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/03-05-PORSCH...item4ac3911d16

The kit is very complete, very OEM quality, with great instructions and the shop they sell out of is available by phone to answer installation questions.

Our 2003's are a bit of an odd duck in that we have the first use of the optical setup but apparently not full implementation. I had the CDR23 system with the Bose "upgrade", and the AM radio in particular sounded like a WWII vacuum tube setup. Just awful.

You will also probably need this amp bypass setup to get around the remainder of the optical system, literally plug and play:

So it can be done, just open your wallet. Good luck.

Cheers
