tire fitment question

Considering a 26.1" tall tire for my '01 996TT

Fronts: 265/35/19
Rear 315/30/19

Let me know if anyone has done this or if you know whether it will work.

Thanks

I have been running 26.1'' rears,,295/35/18 with 245/40/18,25.9'', fronts but with stock size rims and stock suspension for a very long time,no problems..I have a few past threads on it..

The fronts will contact your wheel well liners in the front fairly heavily when turned over. Hit any bumps and it will destroy them fairly quickly. If you are lowered it will be even worse.

The rear depending on what wheel specs can rub different places. The most common spot is in the back lower section where the body and fender tub sections meet. That seem can be tweaked to deal with that.

Yes my car is lowered, but not completely dumped. I have JIC coil overs. I currently run 235/35/19 and 315/25/19. But I'm trying to find an R compound tire for track use and can't seem to find rubber in my size. Very limited selection....

So tire width aside -- Is 26.1" overall diameter a problem?

Unless there is a 19 from say Pirelli (trofeo r maybe) then I suggest you look at picking up a set of 18" rims (readily available for a tt) and try any number of brands. 19" track rubber is not really the way to go.

I run 265/30/19 and 315/25/19 with no rubbing. I will say the steering isnt as light as it was with 235, but I took out most of the front camber since it doesnt understeer much. I dont remember exactly, but i believe the et is either 46 or 49 on the front. They are champion rims.
