996TT Runs a 187.6MPH Standing Half Mile

I took the car to the Houston Half Mile event last weekend held at Ellington Field. I wanted to try to run 185+ (Previous best from the last event was 174mph). The car ran strong during the three attempts. The first shake down run was 177mph with slow roll out. The second was a strong launch and ran 187.6 and the third run I attempted to shift to 6th to try for a bigger speed but ended up running another 177mph.

That's a solid time. There is a half-mile event here in Chicago in two weeks. I hope it's half as good as that event looked.

BHT can you give me a brief description of your mods? i ran 150.6 last yr with a basically x50 car with some exhaust and tune on 19's. changed a bunch of exterior mods and hope for 160 mph this yr. need to know how far i need to go to get close to these times!
