60-130 techniques

I am picking up a VBOX SPORT tommorrow and would like suggestions on the best techniques to get the best times 60-130 TIMES.

IE: I have read some have got the best time in one 4th gear pull (I still can't figure out that out!), others from 2-4th, taking 4th to red line etc.

Thanks in advance for the advice.

Bobby Ali

Start at around 35-40mph and floor it, never hitting the limiter in any gear. If you start in 2nd, you have 2 shifts to perform, if you start in 3rd, 1 shift. You can also start in 4th and don't shift at all. This is where you will find that quick spooling is your friend. Go out and experiement. Shifting can cost you anywhere between 1 tenth and 3 tenths, depending how quickly you shift. I've found that starting in 3rd with 1 shift netted my best times.

considering your turbos i would start at 40mph and do 4th only, for sure 2-3-4 will be slower and a 1shift try 3rd-4th will make sense but i see it slower, try shifting earlier as your turbos dont make power up on top, test at different rpms and compare

make sure you are at full boost when hitting 60mph, traction is a limiting factor
remove all the weight you can, shift fast, get good fuel, colder weather will help, negative slope if possible

Go down hill!!! Full boost at 60, quick shifts and dont let off until 140mph.... This run has so many variables that come into play. Hopefully the sun moon and stars all align for you.
