997 owner looking at 996TT
What's everybody's beef with the 996TT headlights? I like them and don't personally think the 997TT are that much different or better? They are both round (yes look at your lights) with the piece that comes to the side for the fogs. I don't like the older regular 996 lights they are long and droopy looking. The facelift lights look fine and IMO the same as 997 lights except they don't have the side fogs.
Maybe its because the cars have always had round lights until the 996 and boxster came along?

I could have bought a newer 911 or any car for that matter but as soon as I sat in a 997 I hated the interior to me being very flat and cheaper looking then the 996= but hey I admit I'm old school and still love the looks of the mk2 GLI interior. The bottom line is to each his own who can tell the man what he likes or what he wants that is one of the few good things left in the USA.
i'm not a huge fan of the 996t headlamps but i do like they way they work. every 911 i ever had or saw had rounded headlamps ( as they should ) but i'm much more interested in led tails. that will never happen, it seems.
The 996TT headlamps combined with the front fascia comes to a much more aggressive point than the 997 TT. It looks almost Italian to me. I've always been smitten with it. But only on the turbo (and C4S); I'll take a narrow body 997 over the narrow 996 any day.
Anyway, thanks for the thoughts. I'll keep the hunt on. And if anyone sees any good examples of a low miles 996TT turbo with tip out there, please let me know!

I'm from the side that likes the "unique" look of the 996 headlights. Anyway, I have a slight rubbing from the passenger side A pillar. But, I have exhaust and normally the windows down so I rarely notice it. I have a tequipment bar and moton's so I notice a little suspension noise but that is not bothersome. The interior is fine (great) for me and we've had a bunch of benz's, bmw's, etc. I like that its not cluttered with nav, etc.
OT question.. does your pass side seat belt clank against the teq bar? mine does. can't .. make it.. stop. but i guess i could latch it. doh!
No, the shoulder strap is threaded thought the opening in my Gt3 seats...
