DIY - Tail light tab fix

Since the LED tail replacement is moving so slowly, I thought I would post my solution to squeezing some more life out of the old tail lights before the replacements arrive. I did this over a year ago and they are still holding strong...

Nice fix. I'm dying to see a sample of the production LED units.

Nice! Has anyone every just bought the metal spacers? I think I have one missing. Not sure if they are available separate.

The parts catalogue that I have (2005 996 TT) lists the screw separately, but not the washer. Pretty weird since it looks like the mount is all one piece - but we all know it's not...

There is no part number for the washer. It comes fixed to the rear lights.

Where can one purchase bare carbon fiber?

Slider 08-12-2013 03:25 PM

This is where I get mine:

http://compositeenvisions.com/

Prices are good and it takes about a week to receive your order.

I also found some smaller pieces for less on ebay. IDK the quality, but I figure this will be a "learning" project :o, so I may just buy from there.

An inexpensive epoxy is what I'm still trying to figure out!
