I removed the B&M that failed and installed the 997 SSK. All went well until I pulled the hand lever up and then tried to push it down. The front of the lever is rubbing the console and has torn the leather. After removing the console twice attempting to shift it forward (no success), I'm a ta complete loss. All of the holes line up and the console fits perfectly. Not sure what else to look for.

On a side not, the shifter is great.

 

I had this problem when I installed a carbon fiber console. I was able to loosen the screws and bolts enough on everything and shift it around a bit to make it work.

Worst case, get a round file out and enlarge the holes just a bit on the SSK to allow it to move back a bit.
