If he's already done the 30K service, and you're satisfied with the condition of the car (especially the leather interior), I wouldn't be too concerned about 30k miles.....

I believe the 30k service costs around $1500. It's supposed to be one of the more expensive services.

The Bose stereo upgrade that came with 2002 is a huge improvement over 2001, so if you desire both models equally, the 2002 definitely has some big advantages.

I would get the newest model I could afford.

if its a 2001, it's probably out of warranty, so make sure it's had the 30k service. If it has, and everything is ok, 70k sounds fair, as long as the car is in top shape. 30k for these motors is nothing by the way. It just probably seems like a lot because not a lot of people put a ton of miles on these things. If you want a warranty, buy the 2002. That way you'll get at least a year with the car with no worries.

I'd say $70k-$73k, depending on options and mods. As far as the 30k svc, I believe you can get it done for about $800 with plugs in SoCal from non-dealer.

Go with the 2002. Does the 2001 have the bumperettes on the front bumper? The Bose system is a huge improvement in sound.

If you were to add the same mods yourself, you're looking at (approx.) $2500 for PSS9 and $6000 for HRE 840R + $1100 for tires (Conti). Installation for PSS9 around $400-$500 (including alignment). At the end, you'd spend $10k.
