What would you like to see on a new turbo
I don’t think that getting 500 HP on the turbo is realistic. Porsche will most likely come out with a 450HP turbo, and a 500HP GT2. Nevertheless, a 35 pony upgrade is not that small. I would ask for a better interior. All the other quirks were previously listed.
Dual - clutch sequential tranny with launch control , switchable susp tuning , switchable titanium sport exhaust , 3 level stability control like on Corvettes ( totally off for the track /traction control only / full traction and yaw control ) , std 550 hp , swiveling headlights for nightime canyon runs.
1)More displacement 3.9 or 4L should be easy.
2)Room/gearing for taller rear tires. Maybe shorter front tires with different F/R gearing to compensate.
3)Redesigned front spoiler that doesn't drag the ground. Maybe move it back closer to the front axle centerline.
4)Dial type analog vac/boost gauge.
5)Redesign the variable valve lift mechanism. The sliding pin looks like something that will eventually fail. Something lighter will allow more valvetrain RPM.
6)Retune the variocam timings, it is currently oriented more for emissions reductions rather than driveability/performance/smoothness. I'd rather not have a ultra low emissions car.
7)"Street" and "sport" PSM settings.
8)Turbo housing temp gauge or light to prevent cooking the turbo when turning off the engine. Or better yet water cooled turbos.
9)Less weight on the rear tires.
10)Cockpit adjustable suspension stiffness.
11)Less road noise through the rear tires.
12)Better sound system.
13)Quicker throttle response with more accelerator pump like enrichment when the throttle is quickly opened.
14)Direct mechanical shift linkage with rods. Ditch the mickey mouse cables.
15)Lighter weight (floating?) front brake disks.
16)Factory sponsored engine tuning aftermarket options that don't void the warranty.
17)Use smaller diameter front springs, move the tires inboard, allowing a narrower more aerodynamic front end. Smaller radiators would probably be ok too.
18)Dash indicator for which gear the transmission is in for manuals.
17)7 speed trans. I think I read that Mercedes is working on a 7 speed auto also. Planetary manual?
Taller higher profile rear tires would give more traction, smoother quiter ride, and you could run lower pressures without fear of bending rims on potholes. The reduced road noise would make the radio sound better.

I read somewhere that Porsche wanted to use Mercedes' new 7-spd auto, but it wouldn't not fit...I believe I read it in EVO Magazine (996TT Cab vs. Merc SL 55 comparison).
1) Valet mode
2) For Tiptronics, both steering wheel rockers and gear shift ability
3) For Tiptronics, larger display showing gear
4) DVD playback on NAV screen
- blue-tooth or other capability to input addresses into NAV easier
- Stereo enhancements: Equalizer
5) larger rear compartment for the few times someones back there
6) preinstalled area for V1 or other detectors
7) garage door openers
8) coin holder
9) Adaptive front headlights
10) OnStar
11) window/sunroof operation via key fob while engine off
12) oil temp guage
13) boost guage
14) Reduced production #s across entire range
15) tire pressure monitors
more horsepower a plus but not necessary imo.

Add to the list...
No more USA "4x4" looking turbos...Please...ROW suspension from the factory.
For me, I'm not interested in all the creature comforts...I'd like to see Porsche go back to building sports cars, not cars with all the jingles.

-500 hp
-must be a lot lighter
-interior needs a lot of help
-fit/finish improvement-my dash creaks so bad now, radio always has to be on
-US cars lowered to same as in Europe
-19 inch wheels
-more differentiation from other 911 models
-no more slush box, either 6 speed which I prefer, or some kind of SMG gearbox
-valet mode
-more exclusive
