Haha, I actually understood what the Chinese parts were. Basically, what they said was... there were too many LEDs and hitting the housing. They had to redesign it with less LEDs which is the bottom pic.

Just make them like the stock lights are, and if the end user wants to smoke them or whatever, they can do so.
That would certainly work better for the C4S folks. The 997.2 style may now work well with the reflector strip on the C4S.

After all this time it is nice to see a hint of progress from the MFR. Any design they produce will likely be far superior to the stock ones and I am really hoping this finally gets produced!

P.S. please leave the smoking/tinting to the purchaser since that is an easy mod and not everyone wants a tinted taillight. It would be a lot harder to remove tint than to add it

Excellent! Did they indicate a time frame for a prototype?

They said they would start production as soon as they are finished with Boxster/Cayman ~ 2 months but they have given me timings before and you can't really count on them 100 %.

With my recent fender bender, I need a set now. Might have to glue the tabs and hold out until the lights come..

Ha! I didn't see that post. That is not the company I was dealing with, but the picture is the one the factory sent me. (exactly) Very curious...
