my comment was not directed to you. your car, ( as i've read ) is well on its way to repair. personally, i enjoy the oem action of my clutch. when it is properly hydraullically assisted

don't mind me....

I have a similar problem - clutch very stiff after the car sits for a number of days. No leaks.
Questions - My car has 50,000 miles. The last 5,000 with tune, exhaust, LWFW clutch (which I love) and 540 HP at the wheels. Did the high HP accelerate the accumulator failure?
I would rather not convert to GT2 / removing the slave cylinder option, but I also do not want to be replacing the accumulator and slave cylinder every 10,000 mies.

Yes. I did the 'test' for the accumulator and found that the clutch pedal got hard after only only two engagements of the clutch.
I will be doing both the accumulator and slave as soon as I can.
I would rather not do the GT2 option and hope the replacement lasts at least another 50,000 miles.

FYI - if you're thinking of going down this road, I have a brand new kit for sale in the classifieds that was never installed. It could save a couple of bucks over buying the same directly from a vendor.

thanks for the offer.. though i've considered it, ( mostly as i'm sure i'd apreciate the non assisted feel of the mod ) i actually don't mind switching out the occasional accumulator. it's actually part of a regular maintenance regimen by now lol

Hp has nothing to do with the clutch problem, the accumulator/slave cylinder failure. Stock cars experience this problem. Mod'd cars. Cars driven only on the street. Cars driven on the street and track and cars that are driven on the track only.

I'm not sure how long the replacement accumulator/slave cylinder will last I'm hoping a LONG LONG time.

By my estimate, my 03 has about as many miles on the replacement accum/slave cylinder as there was on the original accum/slave cylinder so my fingers are crossed the replacement hardware is a lot more robust than the original hardware.

$1700 later I got the clutch back. We'll see what it does. It won't get driven for two weeks so we'll see what it does.

I assume for that price the slave and accumulator were replaced. Should be good for a while. Mine has died about every 30k.

So I just got back from a 9 day vacation, only 12 days after they replaced the slave and the accumulator...and the clutch pedal was stiff again. Is this normal after 9 days or should it feel completely normal.

I'm going to give the dealer a call tomorrow. So far they've been excellent to deal with throughout the entire time I've owned the car, so hopefully they'll take care of me on this. The service manager knew I was going away for 9 days so hopefully that will help me out.

I'm just curious if after 9 days it should still be normal or if a little stiffness is normal? All the other manual transmission cars I've owned I've never had this problem after it sitting for even longer than this, so I'm thinking this isn't normal.

Thanks in advance, though

I'm sure you will hear from people with more knowledge then myself but my clutch pedal feels the same after two weeks or seven months for that matter.

sounds like you might be somewhere in between learning the peculiar nature and feel of the assisted system, ( which can be confounding at times but we all acclimate if we want to maintain stock "feel" ) and learning the oddity of the accumulator itself ..and given you seem to have a sense of how it should "feel" ( not stiff either at startup or while engaging )..

you could ( dare i say it ) have a failing accumulator..though doubtful, it's more likely the system isn't properly bled given they just replaced it along with the slave. that whole system needs to achieve some kind of homeostasis again. so could be some air also. let's hope. having said all that, it isn't unheard of to have a new accumulator fail. that's just how robust the system is, and another part of the joy

the dealer will sort you out though. the work is warrantied for at least 90 days,.. parts etc. i would think.

My unit held strong after 4 months of no use when I severely fractured my left ankle last year. Sounds like a faulty part, loose connection (?), ect. Either way take it back to the same dealer and get it fixed. Sorry for the hassle though.
