Door Cavity (Between Hinges and Fenders)

Folks
Has anybody ever removed the black "plastic" covers behind the hinges but fastened to the fenders? It is sort of hidden and can be seen when the doors are opened.
I need to remove mine because the previous owner had his fenders spray painted to repair some stone chip damage and quite a lot of over spray are on the plastic "covers".
Can anyone help with some advise how to remove them please.
I can try and take a photo if need be.
Thanks in advance.

If you are talking about what I think you are talking about.
Use a plastic interior removal tool like pictured. Or very carefully use a standard screw driver. Pry the plastic rivets out and remove.

Remove the plastic rivets by pressing in the center and prying up on the outside. Once you get one you will know what I mean.

Basically it is just remove the plastic rivets and remove. Please see the attached PDF. You could magnify the pdf and see how the rivet comes apart and get a better look.

Thanks a stack Todd.
Mine also has a ring at the top that you pull out of the way but other than that looks identical. I will take a pic of it if I can get my camera in there.
I am going to give it a try on Saturday morning.
Once again, thank you.

Todd
Where did you buy the interior removal tool? Porsche dealer?
I tried to find one from our local hardware shops with no success.
I can think of a few handy places that I can use it on the car.
Thanks

I bought a complete set of the removal tools on eBay...about $18 I think.

Still haven't got up the courage to use them, but that's a personal problem.

Thanks Jonhunt.
Ebay is not an option for me as I am not in the US and postage alone will be at the very minimum double the price of the tools.
Thanks for letting me know. Can you perhaps see see where it was manufactured of even who manufactured it?
Thanks in advance

I think there are vendors on this site that offer kits. Mine was made by Cal-Hawk. It is an 11 pc trim removal took kit.
