1508 code on AWE 996 Turbo

I sold my turbo to a friend. AWE it on it with bigger turbo's, cats, etc. I never had the car throw a code or have any issues for 8 years. It is now throwing a code 1508 under moderate .4-.6bar boost. It goes into a limp mode. Turn the car off and restart. All is well. AWE has offered to reflash but they don't think it is an issue with their SW. Any ideas on what my be causing this code? Thanks in advance.

P1508 Torque Comparison Function Monitor - Signal Implausible
Possible cause of fault
- MAF sensor faulty or at fault detection threshold
- DME control module faulty
Did the PSM/ABS light ever flash or come on ?

If car is tuned, could be a dirty MAF sensor, or more likely a MAF going south.
Did he take the car to redline in first or second gear ? Rapid boost in those gears tend to blow MAF on tuned cars.

Thanks. Helpful. I'm remembering that I ran the AWE airbox with the K&N for awhile but took it off due to noise and I had read that it would blow MAF's. The other thing I recall is that it would blow hoses on the pressurized side. I wonder if one of them may be slightly off.

Thanks again.
