By "mainstream", I meant cars that are one or two levels above a Camry !Originally posted by Zippy

Modded car times for what is essentially the world's biggest solo autocross circuit (the Ring ) holds as little interest for me as comparing "stock vs modded" times at the drag strip .

I agree comparing modded to stock is meaningless, but dude, it's gotta be tough to say you didn't find the video a wee bit interesting! Originally posted by MKW

The video was great! I love track videos. I like to compare them with my own skillset and see what I could do differently/better. I will be shooting one at Watkins very soon.
I do have a question concerning The RIng, though.
When there is a track oriented car such as this on the track with commonplace cars like the many he passed, how do they insure safety with such enormous disparities??? I mean, all it would take is for one of those commonplace cars or motorcycles to make one wrong move and there will be huge accidents due to the enormous speed differences. Anyone??
I was thinking same thing, especially since someone is going out with a seriously fast car and shooting for a record lap. Then there are the SUZs and crap all over the place some of which looked clueless and were hitting breaks as opposed to just moving over as he was coming up on there tails like they were not really sure what to do.Originally posted by KPV

Did you guys not think that car looked amazingly under control. That suspension was really dialed in.
Some of the Ring videos we see, cars are all over the place and a bit squirely. Even one video with Walter Rohl seemed like he was really fighting with the car. Alot of back and forth steering corrections. That car seemed to be dead on most of the way through. What a rush that must be to drive a street car that dialed in.
