Been lurking here before and thought it would be a good time to join now. Some people may know me as Erik from RS6.com?

In any case, a friend of mine just sold his RS4 (~470 hp) and is looking for a faster replacement like the GT2.
However I think he would be better off with the 996 Turbo and tune it since his experience with rear wheel drive is not the greatest.

Welcome to 6speed. I had an awd turbo modded to 600plus HP. I think that would be a wise choice for your friend since he's already used to awd. There are several places offering discounts on new ones.

If one loves RWD the GT2 is the only way to go.

 

Well, if he bought a GT2 I am very sure he will end up outside of the road - probably at very high speed.

 

Well if thats the case then he should go 4WD, because the limitations on these cars are very high and off the road would be at high speed could result in a bad thing.
