Transmission Shop in SF Bay Area

Hello All,
I am considering a RWD conversion on my car. If I do, I would like to install an LSD and possibly the 997 1st/2nd gears with Synchro's. I would prefer to not pay someone to experiment on my tranny. I spoke with SharkWerks and their recommendation was to pull the tranny and ship it.
Thanks for any local recommendations.
-Shawn

You try GMG? BBI? If they are not a good fit call roger at cms, he is in AZ tho.. If you plan on doing a Guards unit call them and they will reffer you to a highly qualified shop. I would with out a doubt lose that junk 1st ratio.

"possibly the 997 1st/2nd gears with Synchro's" same as 996 pieces, no upgrade there. Now if you mean 997 gt2/rs then you are upgrading.. synchro's same tho..

Have you spoke to S-Car-Go in San Rafael? They're racers and a full service shop.

Tim941NYC - You are correct. I would be looking for the GT2 gears.
zblake - I have not called them yet.
32krazy! - I have not called guard, but was looking at their LSD. (From what I read their LSD (clutches) should hold up to a good amount of daily driving with the occasional track and spirited drives.)
Before buying one, I do want to make sure I will be best suited for a LSD vs. a TBD

Guard Transmissions main shaft is the best unit out there but it is not a cheap item to replace. But what a sweet thing to get rid of the hideous stock first and second gear ratios.
