I am carless
Assuming only 1 car and you need 4 seater, the new M5 is what I'd opt for. No idea on the wait which I suspect is long.
For sports car that can be daily driven, GT2 or 997S. Between the two, I'd opt for 997S unless you are stuck with TT in your head.

VW Pheaton. W12.... the prices on them have come down pretty good. Everything you get in a A8 and then some for less...
as motortrend put it: "As the ultimate flagship of the Volkswagen brand, the Phaeton W12 is quite simply one of the best-equipped cars in the world..."
you have to drive one to judge...
2nd choices in no particular order:
rs6
e55
Quattroporte

next to the pontiac aztec one of the worst car production decisions ever. You can't mix high end and low end in the same dealership. Who wants to service their $70k sedan at a VW dealership. A friend of mine's phaeton is in the shop now. they need a part, which they had to order from europe and will take a couple of weeks. He was lucky to get one of their few passat loan cars, which says "VW LOAN CAR" in foot tall lettering on the back window. Great car to show up to business meetings in!

I haven't had the same service experince w/ my v8 Touareg. They always give me a very nice loaner and treat me well...and my friends w/ phaetons (one of which I'm driving for fun while he is traveling) are all very happy with theirs. I don't agree it was any sort of failure at all...except with the US crowd that is more concerned with their emblems then their actuals cars. But we don't have any of those around here....that I know of.
