Well Well Well of course it would be the wastegates LOL. Did a pull in third and spun partly in 3rd gear. Boost hits fully around 4300 RPM........ What a difference in the wastegates it feels like the 1 bar watsegates hold a lot better and keep the wastegates closed longer also spools up the turbos way faster. It feels like more horsepower.

that's an incredibly informed estimate. this thread had me checking for boost leaks  and while i found none, my 16/24's just now got me to 1.2 btw 3500-3700 in 3rd but that was slightly uphill and while dodging fresh canyon rubble and debris. love it when it rains.

if its one thing ive learned after moving to socal its that nobody on the 405 knows how to drive when it rains...

Im thinking that someone sent me 18g turbos lol instead of billets. Will see on the durametric numbers i have to send to Tony. When i floor it at 4k it spools right away i haven't done any at 3k RPM yet.

Full boost at 4300??? Thats not right. Full boost should be way earlier for K16s. Like 3500 or so. Even my K24 hybrids are on full boost at 3900.

Do it in 5th where everything happens a lot slower and you can get a much more accurate read at what rpm you get to peak boost.

i can't really hit 5th in this particular canyon!. not for long enough to hit 1.2 lol. i'd make the evening news. but otherwise good advice.. thanks!

Im kind of guessing im about to wake up and do some durametric logs again. Remember i start at abover 4k RPM and floor it its a bad habbit. Ill do it at 3500 RPM.

you should see boost at 2k! with billet 16's and a tune and all that stuff.. no?!
my car similarly setup to yours hits boost all the way up the band from 2k on any grade.

exactly. up here in the north canyons we mostly dodge road plows when it rains.. they were in full effect yesterday. that should do it for rain for the year out here

( sorry).now back to 996's issues. boost leaks suck. on that we all can agree.

3rd gear and start @ 2500. 3500 ist already beyond of the point where your turbos should be at full noost. What's the point in starting that late?

^.. good advice. why start flooring it at 4k?

One reason is because the torque hits so high and hard not good for the axles and engine. If i did it at 3500 RPM i would spool up fast. I will do it on the way to the shop they have to install more stuff.

it's surprising given the level and quality of the help you're getting, that you have these issues at all! GL with it. seriously

You are far from the point where you could brake your axles with that little HP ;) Out of the pit probably, but not with a rolling start.

Your tuner for sure has taken care for your torque - ask him where the limits are. What's the point in having a tune when you can't use your car as it was possible before? Your are 1000-1500 rpm too late and when you are ready to go, the race is already over hilarious
