Hum from front of car

I have this loud (yet intermittent) hum coming from the front of my '02 996tt. I took it to the dealer and no hum while in there possession. I am thinking fuel pump? Any ideas as to what would be up there? When it hum's it is loud, you can hear it no problem in side the car.

The noise is all of the time. Whether car is moving or not. Definitely from something located under the hood in the front. Sounds like it from the front right of the car. The tone doesn't change just a hum or a whine.
