Has anyone ever tried a K16/18g?

Just curious.

Theoretically, it should work. I believe the compressor housings are the same between the K16 and K24. The 18g really isn't much larger than the 16g. Just 2mm on the inducer. My guess is it would spool up somewhere between a k16/16g and k24/18g but would be limited in the max hp department compared to the K24 due to the smaller hot side.

Ever been done?

Pretty sure the hot and cold sides are different between the turbos. I also think anything with the K16 hot side would be very limited. You might make killer TQ early but fizzle out even faster and possibly make LESS power due to the heat you would make, seeing as you are shoving more air through the smaller turbine side....just my thought...you know..air in...air out....

It's cool to find it's been tried. I did a search and couldn't find any mentions of it but have found other combinations that never took off or have fallen out of favor.
