Holy smokes that's a big wing.

Can I ask why the wing needs to be so high up?

Does a wing placed higher provide more downward force?

mEL: Yes, there is clean air up there so you get more downforce.

Sorry for the late reply but just as CC said Clean undisturbed air more down force. Also, although hard to tell in the picture the wing is slightly lower than the roof line as per WCGT rules.

Thanks,

A little more info for anyone who's interested in converting their street TT into a full time track/race car. The wing is a GT3R wing with custom uprights. The decklid of the TT is of different width than the GT3R so I had to kick the uprights in just a bit to make them mate up properly with the alum. plates on the wing.

We started with cardboard for the uprights, then went to a thin sheet metal and then to aluminum. The car made a trip over to Fabcar to have some of the upright material taken out. We patterned the uprights from high HP European TT's race cars. A big thanks to friend Jim in Cincy for helping me with this project.

Rick
