996 Turbo X50 - Evoms Tune
It was not my original motive. It was a lesson in turbos, that appears to be a good direction. I sold my 993 after 9 years ownership. The car was kept in excellent health. Sell into strength. Happy buyer. My intention, at my age, is to buy, enjoy, sell. Break-even or make a couple of bucks is always a goal. I also, would like to find another format for road racing. The 996 was my first experience or, lesson with a turbo. My current race car is fun to drive yet, entails constant attention to set-up and driving skills. it's a younger mans format. An older 996 is newer than my current race car and much easier to set-up, maintain, easier to drive. Cars! Would it be trite to say, "cars are us"? Or, is that toys?
YES ! I forgot to mention. Pump 91 fuel. AWE exhaust is the only mod to the X50. If I ran the Evoms air-box I would pull your numbers. I believe they tested and it was 603 ft.lbs. The car is so manageable .. it's a perfect pure breed running the stock air-box.
Sad note, good note. One must sell into strength! Prior to the Evoms tune I had a stupendous dislike for the factory turbo blast in my 996. I put the car up for sale. It sold immediately.. completed the dyno tuning, (as I did not know what to expect), replaced a leaky radiator and fan motor. Then the alternator fizzled. Repaired! Got the car back and could not believe it. It was a new MACHINE! The buyer will enjoy this machine for years to come. I will hunt for another favorite ride: GT3 or an 07 Turbo. Sort it, enjoy it, sell it. Try to make a couple of bucks. And always, have happy, happy buyers.

We'll be doing a full writeup on our testing shortly. Nick911 was very gracious in loaning us his car to generate some product data that was lost when our dyno computer went down a couple of years ago. We got his car sorted and netted him some massive power increases over the tune he was running before
