I humbly agree. Our TT motors have NO bling! I had a show car 67 camaro big block with so much chrome and polish on the motor it would burn your retinas. Funny thing is the TT would still run with it in the quarter. The camaro would lay 2 stripes for about 30 plus yards in first and carry the spin for many seconds into second where you had some fun drifts approaching 40 plus MPH. I miss that car but the cash is now in 1/2 of a nice boat with a buddy of mine.

Yeah,

I tell people my car makes over 700hp and then show them the engine, I am sure they are not impressed.

But after a ride that's a different story!

Actually buddy .............. I like it that way. Here in California we have a mandatory smog inspection after the car is five years old. I don't believe the above pictured engine would have much of a chance of passing the visual part of this inspection.

I don't know what you guys are up against in other states.

Why would that not pass? As long as it's smog legal, right? If not, you'd be amazed how far a nice car and a twenty spot will get you with a quick lube kid.

Are you kidding. The facility isn't licensed, the tech or operator is. He gets caught he loses his license to smog check. Not worth the $20.00.

If you are failed on the visual, you fail period. Besides all it takes is a patrol officer to write a ticket that sends your car to a referee and then your feet are really put to the coals. Something as small as a modified exhaust (loud) will cost you a minimum of 2K. Get caught with no kats and the car can be impounded plus hefty fines.

The 2001's are coming up. It's going to be very interesting.

You guys should move here to Augusta GA. The way we smog test is too see if standing behind car makes you cough. If not and a scream can be heard in the front of the car with it idling then your good. After that we do a 4 wheel do-nut and go to hooters. LOL We may be under attack one day but for now if you have a tag and blinkers you can drive it on the street. Justice.

My SRT TT handles (with motons) much better than my GT2. Not even close. Highspeeds, its also more tight, unlike being squirmy liked the gt2.

Shank - I agree. The SRT set up correctly handles quite well - on par with the R turbo and quite stable at very high speeds.

Chad, you'd be very suprised what would pass and what wouldn't. I just had my car pass and the cat is completely gutted, faulty O2 sensors. Hell, I even had my n2o setup still in place. I even asked the guy about it and he just went "eh". I've seen many many cars w/ none CARB legal parts, (custom turbo kits, etc.) The visual is usually the easiest one to get past. It's the sniff test that will get you. But it's not hard to find ways around things.

Ok, so a viper with modified suspension outdoes a stock GT2. What about a GT2 with aftermarket suspension, is the viper with motons still better?
