They probably get them from Pelican Parts, which sells them for less.... http://www.pelicanparts.com/cgi-bin/...2535%2529%2520

Andy, great seeing you again. That C4 is deceptively quick. And as Ainslie said, he'd love to build your car. He's an expert. .

Get the upgrades and tools with comfy couches in the garage. Don't forget the cold beverages and we'll be right over.

straight nasty! love it. I tried pming you but i guess i don't have enough posts so i'll just post it here (sorry everyone else).

I had a question about the AEM meth kit though. I've got a 335 that I put down 490whp with a meth kit and some other toys, but I know that my software detunes it when it doesn't see meth flow. Is there anything in the porsche world that does the same thing or do you REALLY have to watch how full your tank is? I believe I have the 2.2g in the trunk of the 335, looks like the aem is 1g?

Anyway, just curious on your impressions on it, if you'd recommend it etc. The 335 needed some serious tuning to work out how smooth the boost/meth flow came on, wasn't sure if porsche was the same way.

Dkfx, I'm not sure what tune you have on the E90, but I'm guessing either a Proceed or JB4/5. Either way, both are a piggyback and control the meth and tune. My tune is strictly a flash and independent of the meth kit. If it fails, it's on me. However, I don't necessarily need the meth, but it does add a nice layer of safety. I believe the aquamist kit does offer a flow meter. I just watch for the light in my batwing, when I can.

Thanks for the kind words!

One last item, after the bolting everything on and uploading a tune from Markski, I took and sent a low boost log to him. Perfect. Car holds boost very well. Ainslie and Markski taught me that boost leaks are the death of things. Check often.

I'm running the jb4 G5 ISO with the e85 back end flash, and burger's meth kit with fail safe box.

So i'm guessing you aren't tuning on meth, just using it as a safety precaution, correct?

edit: at what level would you say meth should be added for safety? guessing Intake/exhaust/software wouldn't justify a need, correct? Guessing bigger turbos?

If you werent using the autotuning map in your 335 with a jb4/procede/.. (Not possible on a flashed ecu), that btw doesnt work so well...at least for me.. You should be using a meth map or a highboost map with some fail safes from meth kit -flow, tank level.... This is perfectly doable for 996tt even you run an external boost controller or not... If you need info how to wire everything let me know

Its not about the mods/stages but of the tune.. its like running a race file tune on pump+meth... the more aggressive the, the bigger risk you take.. ECU can pull some timing and boost to protect the engine, an external boost controller will add some more risks... having a failsafe in place is safest thing to do when you install a meth kit ( i didnt wire mine yet )

I am running a pump+100%meth tune with high timing.. still, i can run low boost with good quality pump gas (94+ octane),if i raise the boost then boost+timing will require METH...
The best approach in my opinion is to have a balanced and tolerant tune... a 50%meth tune or even less is what i would go for... i was looking to maximize performance and paid a lot of attention to my boost settings and meth status to make sure everything works and thats why i went with a 100%meth file

On a side note, ignition timing looks better in my case on pump+meth than pure ms109

Thanks Fadi,
I'm running MAP3 with some specific tuning done by Terry. The 335 i feel is faster in a straight line, or just hits harder than the 996...but I'm ok with that.

I'm ok with pushing the limits on the 335, but will probably keep it subtle on the 996, I really don't know enough about them to be pushing the limits.

PS your sig shot is awesome!

DKFX,

I only run meth to cool the air. I'm not running on the ragged edge and don't need it except for added benefit.
