Would you add turbos to a 100k mile motor?

Been thinking of a good power boost, but I am close to 100000 miles. Just asking for trouble, or lay it to the coals?

I just finished turbos, injectors, intercoolers and exhaust at 86xxx! We shall see..lol

I wouldn't worry about it, if you keep things "small" like a billet K16 or up to 18G levels.

I know plenty of people who have modded cars across a lot of platforms, in some cases doubling the stock horsepower with high mileage setups.

As long as it's done properly, with a safe tune, and the car is already healthy, you should be fine.

I'd weigh my options as to selling the car and buying one that's already been built with lower miles before i started sinking money into a car with 100k on it just because of how tough resale will be on it once you decide to move on. Not a big market for heavily modified 996TT with 125k miles on it. Just thinking out loud - I might be totally off in my assessment, and as these cars get older their mileage will go up with just normal use.

As far as 'is it safe' - yeah, I can't see why it wouldn't be so long as maintenance is all up to date and the turbos/boost are reasonable

just do it man but limit to around 700-750 reliable whp (turbo,fuel system,and ecu with e85 tune) especially if your current motor is in decent shape, just make sure whatever you upgrade can be re usable when you decided for a full rebuild.

I'm only gonna shoot for a solid 600awhp. And I will never ever buy a modded car. People don't know what they are doing, shops are short cutters, and most of the time the owners have no idea what's even done. I prefer knowing every bolt. The car still runs like it's brand new. I like it more every time I drive it.

True...But, the 911 has an odometer to tell you if it sneaks out of the garage to let someone else "hit it"
