The 996tt headlights have really grown on me, and are on some of the great racecars of the time GT1, 996RSR I tried some Of the lids when I first got my car they were carbon at first, made the car look like the McDonald hamburgular then painted body color even matched really well they still looked like a stick on. If you want them ill give them too you to repaint and use. The best to me was the ones that where pulled apart then the Crome Inside painted but that can lead to leaks and moisture inside.
My car has been down waiting a trans but I did this just messing around with it put down layers of plastic dip then sprayed with real paint and clear coat so it could be peeled off. Worked pretty well, paint went on smooth, but when it's back on the road I'm peeling back to the stock look. It is a 996tt after all.

ebay, but caveat emptor. i've seen em on cars and they don't always lay flush given the curvature of the headlamp. too bad as i'd give em a try myself. my car isn't afraid of decals and vinyl lol

I had mine painted and after doing them myself, there has been no issue with leaks.

Actually there was never an issue with leaks, it was the paint "out-gassing".

Here's a close up.

Later, Steve

Steve's are the ones I was referring to. I think they look really clean and not looking covered up. There is some in the market placessection right now on exchange if your car is black you might want to check them out.

There are a couple of threads over on rennlist on this. Best I've seen were dark vinyl tint with ovals cut out on a black car.
