Stereo install question?
Stereo install question?
Hey guys, it really bugs me that I can't use an ipod with the MOST.
Here's my potential solution: remove the plastic 4 cd storage compartment under the nav and install a cdr220, put an amp in the trunk and replace the front speakers and tweaters and add subs in back.
My question is this: How hard is it to remove the fronts and tweeters on an '04 tt cab? The speakers I have are Focal K2P with separate tweeters.
Thanks.

I heard that you have to re-wire the whole audio system because '03 and newer 996's use the MOST bus and the stereo is tied in with it. That's why you can't use the normal iPod connecters. Definitly not a job for a novice.
Unfortunately there is no great way to direct connect to the LEAST system...yet. A couple of companies have said they would eventually, but this has not happened yet. I resorted to having power sent to my glove box, plugged in an FM transmitter and a remote. I have a tiny remote that will operate the iPod in the glove box. The reception is actually very good. Still waiting on another solution.
I use this remote:

There is new one out...saw it advertised with a backlight screen and remote control with the unit able to be mounted remotely (not shipping yet).

BTW some FM don't work depending on where you live.
