26" tall tire on 996 TT?
Thank you for your input to this forum. I read many of your posts when researching this issue and appreciate your sharing of real world results. My car came with 305/30/19 and 235/35/19, this is roughly a .7" difference (smaller in front) and I have had ZERO issues, no dash lights. However, I do believe that mis-sized tires create drag. Porsche designed the car with larger front tires to help the AWD system. This being the case I bought smaller 295/30s and will probably buy taller 225/40 tires for the front. I'm not saying anyone will have issues or diff failure with different sizes, I'm just trying to get the car back to OEM specs with 19" wheels. I think the car will perform best with taller fronts. Agree?
When I first bought my car, December Chicago, I put the closest match to OEM diameters , because of all the talk of sizing/matching, that I could find in all season tires on .
Which were larger in the front then,,,
But as I found out more about sizing/matching I went to larger All season tires which were then larger in the rear,,
And to tell you the truth ,I didn't notice any difference in how are AWD system worked in the lite snow and cold rain/sleet?
Also I am closer to .5'' difference in front to larger rear..
That's all I can say with my experiences.
There are lots of guys running 235/35 & 305/30 setups on their cars for LOTs of miles. The whole diff blowing up from tire sizes is pure speculative, unfounded baloney.

235/40 or 235/35?
GT2 cars came with 12" wide wheels. Depends on offset.
How well would you say the car performs in these conditions?
Satisfied,, those tires,DWS, made all the difference in the world to let me drive it all year around for many years.. In summer I put the DW back on,,also they are a great value.
Don't get me wrong,,its a sportscar,, but I can enjoy it in cold and mild snow. All in all it is controllable and you have to know the car and your limits with it..
I tried the AWD in Lake Tahoe this winter and all I can say is, without winter tires it is pretty worthless.
I'm running 305/30/19 in the rear and 245/35/19 in front and that makes the front rotate just a bit slower with my Michelin PSS tires. I drove it that way for a few thousand miles without issue and I didn't feel any noticeable drag. Two weeks ago I ditched the front axles, diff and prop shaft so now I can run whatever tires I like
