Need PPI advice for 2004 Turbo X50

Looking at a 2004 turbo X50 and want to get a proper PPI but have no idea what to ask for. I'm hoping someone can chime in with comments on what to have done.

Find a reputable local indy shop throughly versed in Porsches, or a dealership if you're not buying from one. If indy, make sure they can read the Porsche DME (ecu) and give you rev counts in range 0 and range 1, which are at and above redline, respectively. This will give you one clue, but important, as to how the car was driven previously.

Also see if the coolant fittings have been welded or pinned, ask specifically. Points if they have, not a deal breaker if they haven't.

Search here for PPI, there's a ton of threads on what to look for. Mostly with repetitive but very good advice every prospective buyer should follow.

Good luck!

If Houston, call me. I have a shop that will do a thorough PPI.

a good indy or good dealer can do one for you, confirm where you are and maybe someone can chime in with shop recomendations

have them go over the car with a paint meter to see if all paint is original

ask they check for 2nd gear pop out

ask for a DME report which will give you all the over revs

talk to the tech who does the ppi, ask what he thinks about the car, points of concern, wear areas, how do the seats look, is is t showing its age, does it look like it was well cared for etc
