These are the torture devices in question.

What model seat are these? My 930 seats are way more comfortable. I think they are the standard non-sport seats, but isn't there another choice between "adaptive" or something?

I tried 997 regular seats last night and they are better than these, but still irritating on my lats. I'm leaning toward sourcing stock seats with lumbar and taking those and these to an upholstery shop to use my seat covers to make a seat with lumbar support, and maybe adding heaters.

Most of my weight is supported by my floating ribs on these adjustable side bolsters.

No adjustable lumbar support.

Interesting, I thought all the seats had lumbar. It appears the lumbar support button is just a round plug on the side of your seat.

Maybe lumbar was only available with the comfort seat option?

Later, Steve

Aren't these the comfort seats? I thought the sports had a more flared out shoulder area.

I think lumbar was a separate option, as was heat.

Anyone know the difference between a sport seat and an adaptive seat, if any?

Those are the same seats I have. The round black circle on mine is a four way push button lumbar control and I have tried every position/combination possible to no avail.

In the 996tt I put in GT3 seats and find them very comfortable(esp for fixed back)
B6S4 Recaro seats were even better. Too bad they won't fit in the TT..I tried

I thought our cars offered the standard seats like yours, the comfort seat (like the ones pictured below with the wrinkled leather) and the sport seats (with the shoulder bolsters).

Thanks for sharing! Husband had a herniated disk while in the army and complains of lower back pains after a 1 hour drive. Hmmm, his bday is in 2 weeks. Hope they can ship it in time.
