This weekend I put in new coil packs, plugs, variocam brackets (one was broke), changed oil, filters, etc. I noticed a few things since doing this. First the car sounds a ton better during cold start now with 5w40 Rotella T6, before it rattled kinda sounded like loose exhaust during initial start up. Now it is quiet. Secondly I am getting more boost pressure then before. I am at high altitude (7800') and it is hot 95 degrees. In third and fourth gear pulls I am getting .8/.9 bar consistently, from what I read online I was expecting to only be getting .6-.7 bar (which is what I got before the servicing), maybe less at altitude? I am asking because I wanted to know if there is something that can be wore out and causing me to get extra boost and need servicing, or if it could be tuned? I would think if it was tuned it would go a little higher but not too familiar with these yet.

edit - From what I can tell the rest of the car is stock without any performance upgrades - 6MT

 

I'm surprised nobody came out with an answer for you. When my car was stock (first 6 years) I never saw more than .7 bar of boost, but I never drove at attitude more than 3400 feet. Since I got it tune I see regularly 1 bar and sometimes it goes to 1.2 bar…. Would be nice to see what you got at sea level...

 

Is it an X50? Boost sounds right for an X50.
