Anyone know anything about this GT2??

Hey guys, my dad has the ache for a new car (again) and is looking at a few options....Any way you cut it, he has to outdo my car . Found this GT2 on Dupont, however the picture looks familiar... It looks like a Euro that was on ebay a few weeks-a month ago... Also whats up with the 1of5 with GT3 seats and rollcage brought into US?? I didn't think any clubsports were built to US spec (he basically says this is a facotry US spec clubsport)...
Whats going on??
http://www.dupontregistry.com/search/srDetails.asp?itemid=128274&sessionkey={36BFC96F-1513-452F-8A17-8A3730C81728}
Thanks,
Evan
PS-Anyone know of a Gallardo for sale?? He is thinking about one of those, but can't find one (resonably priced) coming in...

I have not seen that GT2 on ebay, and I check ebay every now and then. I am sure you can search completed items to see if the car was previously posted on ebay. I know that New Country Porsche of Greenwich has a silver Clubsport GT2, but it might be sold. The price was 192g. As for a Gallardo, they are nice cars, but they are being sold at an unreasonable price. You can get a used '02 Murci for 220g, and a new one goes for 280g. To me, no car comes close to the Murci (in its price range) for beauty and power. Just test drive one, and you will feel it! I am sure you can get a used murci for around the price of a new Gallardo. Also, there is a 2001 Diablo 6.0 with 8k miles on ebay going for 170g, it seems like a good price. When your dad gets a new car (if its a p car or not), be sure to post some pics.

Thanks much for the response...
We had a 2001 Diablo 6.0, and my dad didn't really llike it. We have both driven a Murci. and I agree its a beast, but more then he is looking to spend. If he decides to spend that much he will just get a 360 spyder...
So are there US spec clubsports?? Sounds like it by your response, but I was under the impression they were all converted Euros...
Thanks,
Evan

This is from the USA Porsche.com site:
" For added safety on the racetrack, the 911 GT2 is also available as a Clubsport version featuring a bolt-in roll-over bar which can be upgraded to a full roll cage for competition use. The Clubsport version also includes a six-point racing harness and fire extinguisher with holder. The bucket seats are finished in flame-retardant material instead of leather. "
More info at http://www2.us.porsche.com/english/u...ety/passiv.htm
Here is the website for Spyker Cars http://www.spykercars.nl/home.htm
Spykers are not cheep, they range in price from 220 to 320 grand.
Call Manhattan Motorcars for more info on them.

Porsche never sent the GT2 Clubsport to the US, neither will the GT3 Clubsport be coming to the US.

From reading the listing, it does not say anywhere that it is a US Clubsport, or even a Euro Clubsport for that matter. 1 of 5 sounds like a great way to hype up the engine package, seats, and rollcage. Perhaps it is 1 of 5 that the shop built, or a special dealership package.

The reason I was refering to it as a clubsport is because that EXACT picture was used for a Euro clubsport on ebay awhile ago, however all but the first picture are different. Also the 1 of 5 thing was tripping me up... Hum...guess I will call the guy tomorrow to see what dealio is

hmmm

I've actually seen this on EBAY a few times. But it was advertised as a euro car and it was at $130,000.00. When I saw it, it had EPA and DOT done but no US title. It was the exact same pictures, but I don't know if its the same car.

Evan, did you try Prestige? I spoke to them at the show and they sounded like they were willing to move the Gallardo if someone was serious.
