Should I put the front driveshaft back?
+1
did not see any difference in straight line acceleration with my wavetrac at 700hp level!and have notice that open diff is more friendly for street use with good sticky tires and will forgive more in cornering (one wheel spinning will less prone to tailfish you)
i would buy an lsd or wavetrac for track use only imo

90% of guys here are straight line stoplight / drag guys. Jump on Rennlist which is more of a racing forum, ask the same question, and you'll get a different answer. The shortcomings of an open diff combined with RWD won't be very apparent until you get the car on a road course and drive it beyond 7/10s or so. On a road course, especially a twisty one, a proper LSD will drop your lap times much more than any extra 200 hp would. Most guys are infatuated with hp numbers, but an LSD is one of the best (but most overlooked) performance mods, RWD or AWD, that you can add to these cars.. People generally only see an LSD as an aid in getting power to the ground, but an equally important byproduct of a proper LSD is the locking factor under braking which really settles the car down under hard braking and allows you to brake later, harder and deeper into a corner, all without the car getting twitchy and unsettled. All this will result in shedding time off your lap and making the car just a bit quicker... Why do you thing Porsche puts an LSD (albeit a weak one) into every GT2/3 that roll of the factory? Because it's one key ingredient in making the cars fast. Cups get the good stuff of course.

also +1 to the notion of this all happening in the 7/10 range lol
after having just returned from my daily 30 mile set of twists in my backyard, i think the best way to describe the difference between a properly setup rwd car vs the awd setup is..
you can throttle steer with rwd w lsd, whereas the car will "lumber" around corners with the awd setup. which admittedly is perfect for snow or driving rain, but i can't see what all else.

i would then make my decision based and depending upon what kind of roads or courses i had to play with. if it's just a fast street car with no chance to get on the backroads, i'd leave it "salable" lol
i wish you could try it rwd w lsd. it's positively world's different

Thanks for the FYI, I was responding to the statement where you first said he did not have.
I'm sure a lot of guys do it and think they're fine but there are also a lot of guys go around having lots of sex without condoms too.... I'm just saying I wouldn't take that chance..
If I'm gonna spend tons of money getting a gazillions hp, why wouldn't you do it right to make use of it.

BTW I have RWD (GT2 align) with open diff, when I track it I will go to a proper LSD but the str8 line times I am doing now are much quicker as measured by the VBOX thing than before when I was AWD.
0.8 secs quicker 60-130.
5secs quicker 100-300 kmh.
BTW I read powderhound at rennlist, he is the dogs bollocks when it comes to tracking our cars.

No disrespect to eddie but last I heard bello crashed.... Any real drag car always has posi
My mom's old ford LTD also didnt have LSD, and she didnt complain, but when I took it out I was always spinning the inner tire.
Sure you can drive around leisurely without LSD but when u need to put the power down on a high horsepower car not having it can only be a negative.

But congrats on picking up the one time he went in really hard
I have RWD without LSD and unless I track it regularly I won't be adding LSD. I also drive without PSM but each to their own. I like finding areas with zero people and doing some nice windy road thrashing. It is fun with the open diff and drifting etc in a safe measured way, but would be a good 2-3s sower on a 90 second track from my experiences.

Gt2 alignment, around 3335 lbs with my *** in it and a full tank gas as I always run very close to full.
RWHP = 540-580 depending on gas, it is FBO but with stock ICs, WGs, plenum and DVs, full coilovers on mid track settings (hard), some LW carbon pieces, RWD, larger injectors, running some E85 and 93 octane.
With my granny shifts am doing around 7.5 secs 60-130 (0.7 degrees downhill) and 7.72 on a flat course in 92F temps with IATS near 118F, that is with my 57 lb dog and myself in it, PSM off. 60-100 in 3.2s best in 3rd gear, 30-70 mph in 2nd gear = 2.7s.
I need ICs

well again, welcome aboard.. and yes.. psm off. but taking the dog on your runs,..truly is the dogs bullocks. cheers.
cool, then at least you've got the gt2 ic's. everyone raves about the gt2rs ic's and i'm sure theyre vastly improved? but i'm never at sustained speeds per se, so my old cheese graters seem to work just fine.
