Insurance Question
I know if you hit a deer it's a comprehensive claim. What is the status of hitting debris/ chunk of tire while driving down the road. Is it comprehensive or collision????
I'd have to say it's gonna be collision, unless it somehow becomes subject under some sort of road hazzard coverage. But that's only a guess.
As was explained to me by my carrier (State Farm), if you hit a live dear (or an airborne dear hits you as if thrown by another car), it's comp. If you hit a dead dear, it's collision.

I laughed when I heard it, too. But as funny as it is, it happens. When my wife was in her teens, here car was hit in the drivers side door and window by a dear thrown up by another car.
Whenever I hear about those things, I'm glad I don't live further north and have a need to contend with moose.
