Yes transporting I have no need for a gun close at hand while driving in my opinion= especially where I drive my Porsche. I keep a gun sometimes on my Kubota rtv while on my property or if I go in the city I may carry. You guys are obviously more into it then myself but I can relate.

Iin Ohio it’s easy. CCW must be carried holstered on your person.

My thoughts exactly, if not because it's required, but because you never know when you will need it. If you are carrying because you anticipate using it, such as going into a "bad area" perhaps the better judgement should be to not go there. If you are carrying it for personal life protection, it always must be on you person. You never know when you will need it, but must always have it available. Example: you stop at a gas station to fill the TT. While you are on the pump, a local f&%#tard approaches with the intent to carjack or rob you. The gun is in the car. Do you have immediate access? Unfortunately, no. So now the tard has your car and your gun. Not a good thing.

I always carry when I drive the TT. I'm lucky. I can. Whererver I go. I did a College Tour of the Pacific Northwest. 2K miles and strapped on the whole time. I have a small "dent" in the right bolster of the seat from the rear corner of the gun.

Also, food for thought. You carry and have it in the car. Now you get to where you intend and need to transition. More often then not, you can holster up and not have a problem. But Karma or whatever is not in you bed tonight and you are spotted holstering up. Yes you have a CCW and can carry, but the do gooder decides to call the PoPo. Now you got some "splaining" to do.

I am lucky and can carry 50 state legal. Can even fly with it on some occassions, but if I decide to carry concealled, it is strapped on. Always.

i'm not sure that's 100% Accurate. When I took my course 5 years ago you were allowed to have it in your car, AS LONG AS IT'S HOLSTERED. So if it's out just ***** nilly you can get in trouble, but if you have it in a holster you are fine (which is what I do).

OP i carry mine in the side door cubby just fine, glock 38 in a small hoslter.

ps;
According to the 2014 ohio book :

Transporting in Motor Vehicles
The transportation in motor vehicles of loaded, concealed handguns by
licensed permit holders is permitted. You may not have a loaded handgun
in the vehicle if you are under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
Motorcycles fall under the definition of motor vehicles. Thus, the same
requirements apply to licensees who carry a handgun while on a motorcycle.

Depends on size, semiauto/revolver, transporting or defense... If transporting or large, then the door console would work if wrapped in something so it doesn't bounce around. Or how about those old fanny pack holsters? Wrap around and buckle in the seat?

When driving through shady territory, my 380 Beretta fits snug between seat and console near the seat buckle. It's in a thin holster so it won't get caught in the leather yet has a strap to keep it locked and loaded safely. For the ladies out there, a leg holster under the skirt so it's not visible moving it from the seat/console into the purse.

I may or may not have my CCW, and if I did, I may, or may not use a high quality inside the waistband leather holster (Sheepdog, Crossbreed, etc), with an officer's 1911. IF I did carry that way, it would be quite comfortable. Not that I do.

Not that I would know. Last time I owned a gun, it got lost in a tragic fishing accident.

A commander's 1911 might fit too. If I owned one, I might have experience in that matter.

Adjusting the kant of the holster helps tremendously. From what I've heard.

That's not considered concealed. It's either on you, or in a case that can close. No door or hidden holster allowed.
