X50 Exhaust

Is there any substantive difference between the X50 exhaust and the standard TT exhaust?

If I can score one at a cheap price, I am considering trying to mod it with German cats, etc. If I can get enough flow (to reduce back pressure to say 3 lbs), keep HP above 600 at the flywheel, and get rid of that annoying resonance from 2K-2.6K, it might be worth it... But, if there is no difference between it and the standard muffler, the chances of success are probably low...

TIA,

Duane beat me to it - LOL
Stock and X50 exhausts are indeed different...I was gonna keep mine for when it comes to sell the car but if I get a good enough offer then I'll let it go...

I believe all late 2002 production and beyond Turbos come with the " X50 " exhaust.
Also, doesn't EVO sell one of these " gutted" stock systems for $1800 where they remove the 2nd cat inside the exhaust can ?

MKW - you are misinformed...X50 and GT2 share the same exhaust (both hace the same PN!! I know this cauyse a friend with an X50 bought a GT2 exhaust and found out during the install that his X50 had the same thing already!!)...However, non X50 TTs regardless of year have a different Part number and a different exhaust
