I like the Ford GT idea, but there isnt that much mod-potential..is there? your current C5 is probably as fast.

I'd just keep an eye out for one of the nice modded 996TTs to pop up for sale. Theres absolutely no sense in paying full price for all those mods, when the release of the 997 will push many modded 996s into the used market.

The Ford gt has as much mod potential, if not more, than any turbo porsche. Half an hour for a smaller pulley on that blower, and hold on to your socks.

Maybe happened for you. I love the Turbo, could definitely own one in addition to, but never instead of.

I live in Chicago... you in Maui... BIG DIFFERENCE.
One reason was the traffic, pot holes, too much attention. But I think If one can afford it... buy it.

I did, and do the majority of my driving in Miami, L.A. and Scottsdale. Maui was soo boring I shipped my Diablo over 1 year ago to California to drive. Now I am in the process of moving back to Scottsdale.

go for a GT2, save yourself from borrowing on a depreciating asset. Invest the rest of your cash now and buy your enzo or CGT later, my 2cents

Lambo: for the look
Porsche: cheaper alternative with a better performance when modded

If you are interested in picking up girls I would go with the Lambo

100K down? Try $0 down and lease the car. Used 2004s can be had at about $145-150K...

This is just my impression from reading what you wrote - an intuition.

Go for the Lambo or Ford GT. The Ford GT probably has everything your looking for including exotic looks, except the Ford name.

Assuming you want a sports car name, go for the Lambo. You're young and trust me you should experience the bling and fun of riding in a Lambo at that age. It appears that financially you're doing great so as long as it looks like you'll be earning that money for a while, go ahead and get the Lambo. BUT DON"T MOD IT!!!!!

I'll repeat - DON"T MOD THE LAMBO. After a couple months, when the desire hits you, put it off for a few more months, then sell the Lambo stock, you'll only lose probably about $20-30K. You can then go for pure performance and get into heavy modding on a different platform if you like.

You'll always want the Lambo, so just get it now. It will only get tougher to drive a stock Lambo after you've had other highly modded cars. So get the Lambo first for a year and then switch to a mod car.

Hey Allan,

I've been looking at the used Gallardo's (like everyone else on the planet apparently), and I've noticed that the 2004 cars have only dropped from $165K to $145-150K. But I've seen 2005's that stickered at $195K going for $160K. So the 2005's have already depreciated more than the 2004's did in 2 years?

Am I missing something here?

I have 2001 TT and just got it upgraded to an EVO Stage IV 640 GT plus added another 20+ with the EVO Venturi air Flow kit. So I am pushing over 660+ HP at the engine. This will eat up all C6s, Lambos and well let's not even mention Ferraris.

I have 26K miles on the car and it is as strong as a bull. It may be ordinary and not Italian flash but no too many people are going to be passing me. I left the outside stock other then the look of lowered PSS9s and a Europipe Loud exhaust, so it is a sleeper until I spin up those turbos up and so long.

If you want brutal power and speed get the Porsche. If you want "hey look at me" go Italian. BTW I am Italian and love everything about Italians...but I drive only German.

Theres no substitute

Well said rspiteri.

Bottom line is it's your money, your decision, so do what makes you feel good.
