custom catless resonated xpipe - 996gt2
Hey all,
I made a thread a few months ago about my experience with FVD straight pipes. Well, my neighbors and sanity are very happy I've decided to go the route of a proper performance exhaust.
Exhaust is built by Garth at UndercoverTuning in NJ. These are custom builds jigged on personal 996tt 'spoolbus' and sent out for fabrication. I'm lucky he had one sitting around because another customer reneged on a deal.
I'll let the pictures and sound clips do the rest of the talking.
Cheers!

Wow, thanks everyone for the kind words
to address some of the questions:
yup, just a free flow xpipe with resonators. sometimes it sounds like it wants to pop and crackle (like right on the cusp after letting off throttle) but it usually doesn't. i do enjoy the surprise pops though.
i may not be the best person to ask about drone...it's hard to gauge for me because i was daily driving this car for 4 months with straight pipes. that was just absurdly loud, with mind numbingly horrible drone. so anything less aggressive than that is serene lol. fwiw, there's a little humming at low rpm cruising and under load, but it's not the kind that gives you a headache.
as far as price, that's something you'd have to work out with Garth at UndercoverTuning.
yup, but nothing some O2 sims can't fix (or at least i've been told by a few people).
sure thing! i'll try and remember to get a clip for you guys next time i'm out for a spirited cruise. will bump the thread.

i completely agree! not all xpipe systems sound the same, and aesthetics were a factor for me as well. ie i don't know that i could settle for great sound with haphazardly placed/cut tips. this is a work of art and sounds the part too
cheers

Great Video!!! So those are just 3" resonators in there? Sounds really SMOOTH!! No rough crackle at all! The tip angles fill out the bumper openings really nicely too!!!
